Why We Boycott

As the Executive Director of PEAC, I'm reaching out because an urgent matter in our community is fundamentally undermining the values of accessibility and equity that our organizations share.

Southland Mall management has permanently removed the accessible, sheltered SMART bus stop from its northeast entrance, forcing hundreds of daily riders—including seniors and people with disabilities—to walk long distances to unsheltered stops on Pardee and Eureka Roads. This is creating a dangerous and discriminatory barrier.

We are launching an immediate economic boycott with one clear demand: No Stop, No Shop.
We urgently ask organizations to join our coalition by:
-
Endorsing the Boycott and allowing us to feature your logo on our website.
-
Sharing the Boycott Pledge with your members and constituents through one email or social media post.
Your voice is critical. The presence of your organization will send an unmistakable message to the mall's owners that our community will not tolerate this attack on public access.

With gratitude for your advocacy,
John Waterman Founder and Executive Director, PEAC
